12-Month
Marketing Plan
A full acquisition-through-revenue roadmap for Baseline Coaching — written for one person, built for immediate action.

The three bets
LinkedIn is the channel
Bet 1Sam's ICP — professionals and entrepreneurs, 25–40 — lives on LinkedIn. His founding story is the best piece of content a coaching business could ever have. One post, written honestly, will reach more qualified people than months of any other activity.
ADHD is the owned niche
Bet 2Coaching is a crowded space. "Psychology-informed, ADHD-specialist, built from lived experience" is not. A diagnosis at age 11 and a psychology degree give Sam authentic authority in ADHD spaces that no competitor can manufacture.
Warm outreach first
Bet 3The fastest path to founding clients is personal messages to people Sam already knows — not waiting for a content flywheel to spin up. 50 personal messages this week will generate more discovery calls than 50 LinkedIn posts next month.
90-day priority: 8 founding clients signed. Every decision this quarter should be judged against that single metric. Nothing else matters until the founding rate closes.
12-month outcome
8 founding clients in Q1 → standard pricing from month 3 → consistent 3 new clients/month via content and referral from month 4 → 20–25 clients served by month 12, ~£21,000–31,000 revenue, sustainable solo practice.
What Baseline is. Who it's for. Why it works.
Category claim
Psychology-informed NLP coaching for high-functioning people stuck in repeating patterns. Not therapy. Not generic life coaching. A structured, specific 12-week programme that works from the inside out.
Ideal Client Profile (ICP)
| Segment | Profile | Why they convert |
|---|---|---|
| Primary | Professionals and entrepreneurs, 25–40, UK or international. High-functioning externally. Self-aware. Tried other things. Ready to invest in real change. | Want a framework, not a pep talk. Drawn to the structured approach and psychology credentials. |
| Sub-segment A · ADHD | Adults with diagnosed (or suspected) ADHD who've tried productivity systems and found they don't stick. They know why they struggle — they want help working with their brain, not against it. | Sam's lived authority is unmatched. They feel seen immediately. |
| Sub-segment B · Transition | People after a significant life shift — redundancy, loss, relationship breakdown, identity crisis. "Something shifted and I haven't found my footing since." | Sam's founding story speaks directly to this experience. Deep trust before the call. |
The differentiation that matters
Sam's story isn't marketing copy — it's the product. A psychology graduate with a childhood ADHD diagnosis, who built a coffee shop from scratch and lost it to COVID, who submitted his final assignment while his mum was dying. That's not manufactured authority. That's why people trust him before they've met him.
Brand voice non-negotiables
- Honest, not hype. No "transform your life." No false urgency. No inflated claims.
- Grounded, not clinical. Not a therapist, not a life coach — something more specific.
- Personal, not corporate. Sam's story is the brand. First person, always.
- British English throughout. No Americanisms.
- No prices on the website. Discussed on discovery call only.
Strong foundation. Zero distribution.
The product is designed. The website is live. The booking flow works. The entire problem is that nobody knows Baseline Coaching exists yet. This plan solves distribution, not product.
What's already done well
- Website live at baselinecoaching.co.uk — clean, well-written, strong brand voice
- 12-week programme fully designed across three phases
- Cal.com discovery call booking live and functional
- Client portal built (Supabase — dashboard, workbook, admin)
- Company registered — Baseline Coaching Ltd, June 2026
- Founding rate in place (£600 for 8 clients or 3 months — genuine urgency)
- GoCardless instalments set up (as low as £50/month)

How strangers become aware.
Zero budget. Solo operator. Three months to prove the model. The channels below are sequenced to maximise speed of first revenue, not long-term scale.
Now — Months 1–3
1. Warm network outreach
Highest priorityPersonal messages to everyone Sam knows who might benefit or know someone who would. Not a newsletter blast — individual WhatsApps, DMs, emails. This is the fastest path to first clients and requires nothing except time.
Template:
"Hey [Name] — I've just launched a coaching practice. Psychology-informed, structured 12-week programme. Designed for people stuck in repeating patterns — especially people with ADHD.
I'm offering a founding rate to my first 8 clients. If it sounds relevant to you or anyone you know, the discovery call is 30 minutes and completely free.
[cal.com link]
If it's not for you, no worries — just wanted to put it on your radar."
Target: 50 messages in the first 2 weeks. Goal: 10 discovery calls, 2–4 signed founding clients.
2. LinkedIn
Primary ongoing channelSam's ICP lives on LinkedIn. Authentic founder stories with real stakes get enormous organic reach there — and Sam has one of the best in the coaching space.
Profile setup (before first post):
- Headline: NLP Coach · Helping professionals stuck in repeating patterns · Psychology-informed · ADHD specialist
- Banner: Baseline branding (forest green, wordmark)
- About: Full founding story, ending with a CTA to book a discovery call
- Featured: Link to baselinecoaching.co.uk
First 5 posts:
| # | Hook | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | "When I was 10, my mum was diagnosed with cancer. Around the same time, my dad left. Nobody called it ADHD back then." | Founding story — maximum reach, establishes Sam's voice |
| 2 | "I was diagnosed with ADHD at 11. I've spent 20 years learning what actually works for a brain that operates differently." | Own the ADHD niche. Speaks directly to sub-segment A. |
| 3 | "I submitted my final psychology assignment while my mum was still alive. I never got to tell her I passed." | The trust post. Most personal. Converts the undecided. |
| 4 | "You know what you need to do. You've known it for years. So why can't you make yourself do it?" | Maps directly to Scenario 5 on the website. High resonance. |
| 5 | "NLP has a reputation problem. Here's what it actually is in an ethical coaching context." | Objection handling for sceptics. |
Cadence: 3 posts per week. Every post ends with a soft CTA (link in bio or "DM me if this resonates"). No hard sell in posts.
3. ADHD communities
Month 1–3Sam has a childhood diagnosis and a psychology degree. His credibility in ADHD spaces is real, not manufactured. Participate genuinely for 3–4 weeks before mentioning services — then it's earned, not intrusive.
| Platform | Community | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| r/ADHD (3.7M), r/ADHDers, r/ADHD_Coaching | Answer questions, share perspective. Bio links to site. | |
| ADHD UK Adults, ADHD Support Group (Adults) | Coaches are accepted in intros after a few weeks. | |
| Search "ADHD" in groups | Smaller audience, higher income — worth exploring. |
Month 3–6
4. Podcast appearances
Start pitching Month 2Sam's story is podcast gold. Start pitching in month 2; expect first appearances in months 3–5.
Pitch angle: "NLP coach with ADHD built a practice from scratch after COVID closed his business and his mum died during finals — here's what he's learned about why patterns repeat and why most self-help doesn't stick."
| Category | Target shows |
|---|---|
| ADHD-focused | ADHD reWired, I Have ADHD Podcast, ADHD Experts Podcast, UK-based ADHD podcasts |
| UK wellness | Feel Better, Live More (Dr Rangan Chatterjee), Happy Place (Fearne Cotton) |
| Entrepreneur / resilience | Shows about rebuilding after failure, founder mental health |
5. Therapist referral network
Month 3–6Therapists regularly have clients who are "good enough" for coaching rather than therapy, or who've finished therapy and want to go deeper on patterns. A relationship with 5–10 UK therapists = a steady referral stream with no ongoing effort.
Approach: email 10 therapists with relevant specialisms (ADHD, anxiety, grief/loss). Introduce Sam and Baseline. Offer a free discovery call so they understand what he does. No formal programme — just trust built person-to-person.
Month 6–12
| Channel | Notes |
|---|---|
| SEO / blog content | Target: "ADHD coaching UK", "NLP coaching online", "life coach for ADHD". One post per week. Takes 6+ months to rank but compounds permanently. |
| Start only after LinkedIn generates 3+ enquiries/month. Reels for ADHD content perform well organically. | |
| Google Ads | £10/day on "ADHD coaching UK". Only once discovery call conversion rate is proven from 20+ calls. |
Skip entirely for now
| Channel | Why skip |
|---|---|
| TikTok | Wrong demographic for £1,800 programmes |
| Facebook Ads | No budget; creative-testing intensive |
| PR (newspapers) | Long lead times, low direct conversion for coaching |
| Twitter / X | Declining platform, poor UK coaching ROI |
| SEO (months 1–3) | Too slow when the goal is founding clients now |
One conversion mechanism: the discovery call.
The website and Cal.com are already built around this. The job is to remove friction and maximise show rates.
Fix in Week 1 — non-negotiable
- Add Anthropic API key to Vercel — the AI chat widget handles "is this right for me?" objections 24/7. Without it, visitors with questions bounce silently.
- Upload a headshot — replace the placeholder at
assets/sam.jpg. A real photo converts significantly better. People are booking time with a human. - Update footer email — replace the placeholder with
sam@baselinecoaching.co.uk. - Write the Cal.com confirmation email — what to expect, tone-setting, reduces no-shows. The gap between booking and showing up is where doubt creeps in.
Discovery call playbook
- Listen first — what's going on for them, in their words
- Explain the three phases clearly (The Audit, Pattern Work, Operating System)
- Be honest about fit — if coaching isn't right, say so. This builds more trust than any pitch.
- If interested: present founding rate + instalments (£50/month removes the sticker shock)
Post-call follow-up (within 24 hours)
"Hey [Name],
Good to talk earlier. Just summarising what we covered: [2–3 sentences about their situation].
The Baseline Reset starts at [next available date]. Founding rate is £600 — or £50/month on the 12-month instalment plan. That rate closes once I have 8 founding clients.
No pressure either way. If you want to go ahead, just reply and I'll send the next steps. If you need more time, that's fine too.
Sam"
Target conversion rate: 25–35% of discovery calls to paid (founding client stage, from warm leads).
The programme is the retention strategy.
The Baseline Reset is 12 structured weeks. Retention isn't a separate project — it's delivered through the quality of the sessions and the portal experience. The focus here is on the edges: what happens between sessions and after the programme ends.
During the programme
- Weekly session (already designed — the core product)
- Brief mid-point message at week 6 — not a formal review, just: "how's the work landing for you?"
- Portal visibility — clients can track their progress; Sam can see their workbook entries before each session
After the programme
- 30-day check-in email: "How's it going? What's sticking?" — signals ongoing care, surfaces testimonial material
- 90-day check-in email: "Any old patterns creeping back? Sometimes a single session is all it takes." — creates natural re-engagement
- Offboarding note: What to do if they slip back; how to book a maintenance session; the option to return
The first 8 clients are the referral engine.
NLP coaching is exactly the kind of thing people share when it works. "I've been seeing this coach and it's completely changed how I operate" — this is word-of-mouth that doesn't need a programme to happen. It needs a great client experience and a direct ask.
Month 1–3 · Informal
At the end of every programme (or mid-way if things are landing well): "Is there anyone in your life who might find this useful? Happy to give them the same discovery call." Hand them the booking link directly.
Month 3–6 · Semi-formal
Introduce a simple offer: refer a friend who books a full programme, and get one complimentary single session. No complex tracking — just a note in the email.
Month 6+ · Structured
- ANLP referral network — once registration is confirmed, tap in
- Peer referrals from therapists (reciprocal — refer out as well as receive)
- Case study testimonials on the website (with client permission)
Founding rate now. Standard rate by month 3.
Current pricing (internal — not shown on site)
| Service | Standard | Founding |
|---|---|---|
| Discovery call | Free | Free |
| Single session (60 min) | £75 | £55 |
| Baseline Reset (12 weeks) | £1,800 | £600 |
| Instalments · Standard | 3×£600 / 6×£300 / 12×£150 | — |
| Instalments · Founding | — | 3×£200 / 6×£100 / 12×£50 |
Don't discount below founding rate. If someone can't afford £50/month, coaching isn't the right fit for them right now. The founding rate already removes the main price objection. Discounting further signals uncertainty about the value.
Year 1 revenue projection (conservative)
| Period | Clients | Revenue |
|---|---|---|
| Month 1–3 | 5–8 founding clients × £600 | £3,000–4,800 |
| Month 4–6 | 4–6 new clients × £1,800 + single sessions | £7,200–11,200 |
| Month 7–12 | 6–8 new clients + referrals + single sessions | £10,800–14,800 |
| Year 1 total | ~20–25 clients served | £21,000–30,800 |
This assumes ~8 concurrent clients maximum (8 hours/week of calls — manageable solo). Revenue appears lower in months 1–3 because some clients will pay via instalments; cash flow starts normalising from month 4.
Month 9+ revenue options
- Group cohort: 6 people × £400 = £2,400 per cohort. Lower time-per-person, higher revenue per hour for Sam.
- Corporate coaching: Companies paying for employee coaching. Typically £150–250/session. Requires B2B relationships but scales differently to 1:1.
Week by week, from zero to founding rate closed.
- Add Anthropic API key to Vercel — enables the AI chat widget
- Upload headshot —
assets/sam.jpgreplaced with real photo - Update footer email — replace placeholder with sam@baselinecoaching.co.uk
- Write Cal.com confirmation email — sets tone, reduces no-shows
- Write LinkedIn profile — headline, about section, featured link
- Publish founding story post on LinkedIn — this is the single highest-potential piece of content Sam will ever write
- Send 50 personal warm outreach messages — WhatsApp, DM, email to personal network
- Confirm Cal.com slugs are correct — discovery-call and Coaching_session live and functional
- LinkedIn: 3 posts/week — ADHD post, NLP explainer, "is this you?" post
- Attend and convert discovery calls — aim for 2 founding clients signed this fortnight
- Join r/ADHD, r/ADHDers — engage genuinely, no promotion yet
- Write 3 podcast pitches — one ADHD-focused, one UK wellness, one entrepreneur/resilience
- Write post-call follow-up email template — use it after every discovery call
- LinkedIn 3x/week — keep the flywheel moving — compound impressions building
- ADHD community participation — 4-week rule elapsed; can now mention services when relevant
- Send podcast pitches — first responses starting to come in
- Referral ask to any signed clients — "Is there anyone in your life this might help?"
- Email 10 UK therapists — introduce Baseline, offer a free discovery call to understand the work
- 8 founding clients reached — or 3 months trading elapsed → move to standard pricing
- Collect written testimonials — from any clients completing Phase 1 (weeks 1–4 of their programme)
- SEO keyword research — start identifying blog topics for month 4+ content calendar
- Standard pricing live on discovery calls — founding urgency closes; value is now proven by results
- First podcast appearances live (if pitching started in week 3)

One north-star metric. A short list of blockers.
Every other metric is downstream of this. If discovery calls are being booked, the funnel is working. If they're not, the acquisition channels need attention.

Open decisions — answer in Week 1
baselinecoaching/discovery-call and baselinecoaching/Coaching_session. If these need updating, every piece of outreach copy changes. The short version: Send 50 personal messages this week. Post the founding story on LinkedIn this week. Fix the website friction (headshot, email, API key) today. Everything else in this plan follows from those three moves.
